Working Princess Problems

Hello my little Sparklies,

I decided to knock out a post before I go into work today! I was feeling quite inspired to blog about my daily go-to's that I reach for when I am scheduled to work. As per usual, we're advised not to wear make up that is too copious or distracting/offensive so how do I deal with that? By taking the 'No Make-up Make-up' look and putting my own spin on it. I'll take you through it!

After washing my face and brushing my teeth I usually reach for my eye make up to start with. I don't always war eyeliner but when I do I am usually using either Revlon's ColorStay liquid eyeliner or Maybelline's Master Drama crayon eyeliner. If I use liquid eyeliner I usually line my top lid and if I'm feeling like it I will wing it out. When I use the crayon liner I just line my waterline for definition. Once lining my eyes is done I move on to mascara. Because I don't work at some fancy, high-end place I don't go full throttle with my lashes (though believe me I am all for dramatic eyes). I'm finally growing on my choice for work mascara, which is Cover Girl's LashBlast Volume (in the orange tube) after one or two coats I feel that my lashes look defined without being too much for my work place.

Once my eyes are all handled I move onto lips. Now this is where I like to have fun. I have worn various mixes between deep violet to ruby red to work and every shade in between. Out of all the shades I experiment with at work however, I always come back to two products. Maybelline's Baby Lips in Pink Shock and NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait, I wear these together for a fun, but noticeably more tame look.

For perfume I don't use anything to fancy, I just spritz on some Victoria Secret body spray and call it a day.

As you can see my routine isn't super extensive, but it is tried and true and I wanted to share it with you all.

Judgment Slay (OITNB)

Hello my little Sparklies,

I have finally joined the rest of the world in the craze known as: Orange is The New Black. While I am not completely ashamed this happened, I'm also not teeming with excitement to admit, I finished both seasons in 3 days. It was just that addicting to me. It was refreshing at least. Now I wont spoil anything for those of you who have never seen it before, really the point of this post is to review the show in question, not go through in detail. So lets get started!

The Appraisal:
OITNB Has many things going for it. It's set in a WOMEN'S prison and focuses on more than one character in detail. One of the very first thing's I liked was how they gave insight into the lives of other inmates, both in jail and prior to jail. The character's themselves are very diverse, (shout-out to Pennsatucky, Taystee, and Daya) and even character's more on the minor side got a chance to get some shine on and be memorable. The show is also good at manipulating feelings, I cant explain the amount of times I was "Oh, Alex I feel for you!" "ALEX HOW COULD YOU!!!". There is ALWAYS some source of drama for the inmates of Litchfield, and every time I realize all of it was based on something that actually happened I am just at a loss for words.

Final Shimmery Analysis:
OITNB is already pop-culture gold, and for good reason, so I highly suggest getting in on all those jokes being told all over social media. (Katy Perry being Vause-Man's love child is on the money). I suggest binge watching this series over a rainy weekend with a good selection of snacks and your phone present. As a disclaimer I feel inclined to mention, Regina Spektor's theme song for the series is extremely catchy, and more than once will you find yourself humming it or singing it in the most inappropriate times. I hope you all enjoyed my first Judgment Slay!

The Favorites of a Princess: February

Hello my sparklies,

This is a new blog post I'd like to start doing once a month. It's a list comprised of my favorite items, makeup and otherwise, for the month. So lets get started!

Makeup:

- Pumped Up! Mascara by Maybelline
This mascara literally is a little magic maker, I don't curl my lashes (because fearful) but this mascara totally supports a high and defined look as if I did. I am all for mega lashes and two coats of this baby does the trick for me.

- Violet Frenzy Lipstick by Revlon
I was never a girl too into lipstick when I was little. I wasn't into it at all actually, I was reaching for my moms lip gloss when I played in her makeup. But now that I am much older I'm seeing that its really great. Especially this color. Purple is very on trend right now (especially the vampy hues) and I was happy to have something that was subtle enough to not have me mistaken for a nightwalker but still vibrant enough to pop!

- Bombshell Body Mist by Victoria Secret
I wear this stuff everyday to work and I am STILL obsessed with the way it smells. Its sweet and refreshing, without being overbearing.

Media:

- Annie (The TV Version with Kathy Bates) on DVD
Now while I wanted to see the reboot (still haven't) this honorable mention goes to the TV Special. I just recently bought it on DVD after my VHS (Yes I'm old enough for those, 90s kids waddup) completely broke. I've currently watched it four times.

- ST. Patrick by PVRIS
This song literally is delicious to my senses. Both my hands up, swirling around in the summer sunset.

Food:

- Grapefruit Juice
I mean, it's my one true love.

- Chicken Nuggets
Buffalo, Honey BBQ, you name it, I've ingested it I swear.

Clothes:

- My Thicker Material Leggings
It's February, need I say more? Black, comfy, goes with everything.

- Grey Cable Knit Cardigan
A Christmas gift from my brother, I've been reaping it's benefits.

I've very much so have been enjoying my February, I hope you all are too!
Here's Hoping You'll,

Updates From My Sparkly Life

Hello Everybody,

Longtime no blog right?

So here's how my life has been going these last few months:

School. And No School.
If you've read my past blogs you'll know I am a college student. Or uh...was. I was in the first semester of my sophomore year when I decided to take a semester off. No, that's not code for "I'm NEVER going back!" I am literally returning next semester for the start of Fall 2015. I'm not going into heavy detail (though maybe in a future blog I might) but it was better if I took the semester off. Now beyond the school thing, I am still very happy with the guy in my life and I am proud of our relationship. We recently just celebrated our second Valentine's Day with a date to the movies for Fifty Shades and some good old quality time. As I sit here facetiming my best friend I'm trying to think of anything else I may need to update you all on, but I'm drawing blanks so I think that's it for now!

Here's hoping you'll
